: You need to be a salary earner to use Zilla. You’ll need to prove your employment using your work email address. If you don't have that, you can provide your work ID card AND a salary bank receipt/payslip not older than 3 months

What do I need to provide to get credit?

It’s really easy. Once you have the credit in your Zilla Wallet, it can be used to purchase anything you want from any of our Merchants.

Let’s imagine Tobi wants to get a pair of Sneakers that costs 120,000 Naira from Sneakerhead NG, and he has 215,000 Naira in Zilla shopping credit, all he has to do is visit Sneakerhead’s website or send them a DM on Instagram. He then goes ahead to make the payment using the credit available in his wallet.

Tobi pays a downpayment of 25% (30,000 naira) and the rest of the cost (90,000 naira) is covered by his shopping credit. Tobi now has up to 8 weeks to pay the balance of 90,000 and still has 125,000 naira in shopping credit to spend on other items. 

How do I use my Zilla credit?

Zilla enables you to split payments in flexible instalments at checkout. Want to buy an item from a merchant that accepts Zilla? It’s as easy as ABC.

If you are making a purchase from a merchant with a website or an e-commerce store, simply add items to your cart per usual and choose Zilla at checkout. You will be directed to the Zilla payment gateway to complete the payment.

When the merchant has a social commerce store (Instagram, Twitter, etc)

In this case, simply DM the merchant and inform them that you want to pay with Zilla. They will share a payment link with you. The link takes you to the Zilla payment gateway.

Using Zilla on e-commerce sites like Konga, Jumia, etc.

You can use your Zilla card at other e-commerce stores if you do not find the item you need with Zilla merchants. 

When you use Zilla as a payment option, you can choose from four payment plans:

Pay in 2:  Pay 25% now and the rest in thirty days.

Pay in 3: pay 50% now and the rest in 2 equal monthly instalments

Flexible payment: pay at least 25% now and spread the rest for up to 3 months (this payment plan may attract a small fee)

As soon as you pay the first instalment, your payment will be completed and your order will be processed by the merchant.

To qualify for these benefits, you must be employed and fully registered on Zilla.

How do the payments work?

Can I withdraw my Zilla credit?

Your credit limit is based on the financial activity/financial health we are able to deduce from the bank account you connect to your Zilla account.

You can connect other bank accounts with better activity to attempt to increase your spending limit.

How can I increase my spending/credit limit?

We currently process payments of up to 2 million naira with a maximum shopping credit of 300,000 naira.

How much can I spend on Zilla?

At all your favourite merchant stores. You can check out a full list

Where can I use Zilla?

We don’t charge our shoppers any interest or fees on regular Zilla payments (outside of CardZilla) as long as you make your repayments on time. 

On flexible monthly repayment plans, charges range between 0%-11%, depending on the downpayment, repayment duration and whether it is a CardZilla payment or not.

How much interest does Zilla charge?

Zilla merchants will start to process immediately after you make your first payment. Please reach out to the merchant to find out their own delivery policy.

When will the merchant process my order?

We give our customers a grace period of 2 days, after which we begin to charge a 0.5% interest per day on the late instalment.

What if I’m late with repayment?

We value the privacy of our customers. We cannot access your phone contacts and will never request this.

Will Zilla reach out to my contacts for repayments?

We need your BVN to be sure that you are who you say you are. Your work email (or other employment documents) helps us verify that you are employed, and have the means to pay us back.

Why does Zilla need my BVN and work email?

Connecting your bank account is an essential step in accessing shopping credit at Zilla. It allows us to look at your financial history, determine your financial health and how much credit to extend to you.

Rest assured that verification is all we use this information for. No more, no less.

Why do I need to connect my bank account?

The third-party partner we use for assessing bank accounts does not currently support some non-traditional bank accounts.

Why can’t I connect my non-traditional bank account?

If we are not able to determine a stable enough inflow of money into your bank account, we will conclude that you have poor financial health, and we will not be able to offer you shopping credit.

Why was I told I have poor financial health?

What are my repayment options?

Zilla needs to access your camera to take a selfie and verify your identity. If your camera did not come up, it could be because you have not granted the app camera access. You will need to reset your browser permissions. You can learn how to do that 

Why can't I take a selfie?

Sometimes it takes a little bit of time for us to get the information we need from your bank account. In a case like this, we will inform you that we are still assessing your account, and you can check back later.

Why are you still assessing my bank account?

If you cannot access the split payment options (pay in 2, pay in 3, pay in 4), the most likely reason is that you have not completed your credit qualification and gotten shopping credit. Please go to your account at 

 to complete your registration and get credit.

Why can’t I access the split payment options?

If you need to return an item you have purchased, please first inform the merchant. Depending on their return policy, we can then come in and process a refund.

What if I need to make a return?

If you are unsatisfied with a service or item purchased from a Zilla merchant and would like a refund, we have put measures in place to ensure that you are able to get one.

To put in a request for a refund, please directly contact the merchant you made your purchase from. As they are the provider of the goods or services, it is their primary responsibility to process your refund request.

Once you have informed the merchant of your request, and they start the process from their end, your upcoming payments will be cancelled and your downpayment will be refunded within 24 working hours.

It is important to notify the merchant of refund requests as early as possible to make the process much smoother. Please note that Zilla does not take responsibility for disputes between you and the merchant and you will be expected to make your repayments in full and as when due.

Please note that refunds are completely dependent on the refund policies of the individual business you have patronised. As Zilla is only a payment processor, we can only help with refunds to a reasonable extent.

How do I request a refund?

If you skip the initial prompt to connect your bank account, you can always go to your settings page and click on ‘

 to do this. You can also add more than one account to Zilla to increase your chances of a higher spending limit.

You will be presented with two options to connect your bank account: 

, you will be required to authenticate your bank account and request a bank statement via an OTP.

, you will be required to log in using your internet banking credentials through our third-party partner, Mono. Please rest assured that your information is protected. Your information is encrypted using bank-grade security and your credentials will never be made accessible to Zilla.

Once you have successfully connected your bank account, you will be able to access shopping credit and buy now, pay later with Zilla.

How do I connect my bank account to Zilla?

To make shopping with Zilla more accessible, we have launched CardZilla. This allows you to shop from any merchant that accepts online card payments, and pay back in instalments. You can find out all about CardZilla 

How do I make purchases from non-Zilla merchants e.g. Jumia?

To complete your signup and verify your identity, we might require you to take a selfie📸. Sometimes, people encounter issues with this. Rest assured, it is a minor issue with a quick fix.

First and most importantly, make sure that you click on ALLOW when the app requests access to your camera. If you accidentally clicked on DECLINE, or your browser just does not get the memo; the most simple fix is to refresh your browser (or refresh the page).

If this does not work, or your browser still does not get the memo, we can then bring out the big guns (just kidding, it’s more like water pistols).

Zilla needs to access your camera to take a selfie and verify your identity. If you didn't allow access, you'll need to reset your browser permissions.

How to reset camera permissions.

No, you cannot. If you have another bank account you wish to connect to your Zilla account, you can simply go to your settings page and add the new account. Please click 

 for a guide on how to add a new bank account.

Please note that the activity of the latest bank account you connect to your Zilla account is what determines your credit limit. If you get a lower credit limit as a result of connecting a new bank account, you will not be able to go back to your previous credit limit.

Can I change the bank account I connected to my Zilla account?

To delete your account, please go to the settings page on the mobile app, click on 'Account Information' and then 'Delete account'.

Please note that it will take 60 days for your account to be permanently deleted. You can log in to your account at any time before then to stop account closure.

How do I delete my Zilla account?

Adding your bank account to Zilla to get shopping credit is usually pretty simple. It typically works how we have detailed it 

. However, if you use any of GTBank, UBA or Zenith Bank, your process might look a little bit different. It's still straightforward, just different.
